Built on 15+ years of combined academic and industrial experience in electric motor and driver design, geometric and electromagnetic optimization, and testing.

AEMA Engineering is a solution partner for projects built on domestically developed electromechanical and electromagnetic systems, from industrial lightweight electric vehicles to custom motor and driver applications, using national resources. The team’s background spans academic research and industrial practice in machine design, finite-element and geometric optimization, and full-scale testing. Products are designed and manufactured in compliance with the IEC 60034 series for industrial machines and IEC 60349 for rail systems.

Custom electric motor design

We deliver end-to-end, clean-sheet electromagnetic and mechanical designs tailored to your specific operational constraints. Using advanced FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools, we optimize magnetic circuits, thermal management pathways, and structural integrity. Whether for high-torque traction, high-speed spindles, or space-constrained actuators, our design process ensures maximum efficiency, power density, and reliability from initial prototyping to serial production.

Traction motors

Our traction motors are engineered for the demanding duty cycles of electric vehicles and railway traction. Developed in compliance with rigorous international standards such as IEC 60349 for rail propulsion, these motors offer high overload capability, robust thermal endurance under peak loads, and superior resistance to environmental hazards like shock, vibration, and moisture ingress.

Motor drivers

We design and build customized motor control units (MCUs) to extract maximum performance from our electromechanical systems. Supporting advanced control algorithms like Field-Oriented Control (FOC), sensorless positioning, and regenerative braking, our drivers feature ruggedized thermal design, low electromagnetic interference (EMI), and wide input voltage ranges, matching perfectly with your vehicle or system-level battery architecture.

Test systems

We build specialized test benches and automated data acquisition systems around high-performance dynamometers to characterize electric machines under realistic load profiles. From back-to-back motor testing and thermal mapping to production-line quality assurance and failure diagnostics, our test systems deliver high-fidelity measurements and reporting, helping you validate efficiency, torque-speed curves, and transient responses.

Project & consulting

We provide comprehensive engineering support across the entire project lifecycle. This includes initial feasibility studies, sizing of electromechanical drivetrains, structural/thermal integration assessments, and standard compliance audits (IEC, ISO, MIL). Our expert consultants work closely with your internal teams, transferring crucial knowledge in electric motor technologies and helping navigate complex system integration and supply-chain challenges.

Maintenance & repair

To maximize the lifetime of valuable assets, we provide diagnostic, repair, and overhaul services for industrial and rail electric machines. Our capabilities include detailed winding analysis, precision rotor balancing, high-grade insulation rewinding, and comprehensive post-repair testing on our dynamometer benches. We restore motors to their original factory specifications, ensuring they meet or exceed operational safety and reliability baselines.
